Easter - March 31 - 2002. Amy and I threw the kids and the dog into the minivan and headed down to Devon's place in Bethel. Devon and Chris had set up a great Easter Egg hunt in their backyard, geared toward the investigative skills of 2 and 3 year olds.
Here are Hayley, Amanda, and Shelby scooping up the colored (plastic) eggs that were hidden throughout the yard.
"Hayley's got a purple egg!"
Shelby stretches for a yellow egg, while Pop-pop helps Hayley locate a renegade green egg that's hiding in the bushes. The girls were well motivated for the hunt, because inside each plastic egg were hidden a couple of Animal Crackers, which are very high on their list of tummy yummies.
Hayley's found the motherlode! Green eggs and yellow eggs and red eggs - oh my!
Aunt Devon helps Shelby get to an egg perched in a tree, while Amanda and Hayley scoop up more eggs in the background.
